About your opportunity Fixed Term Temporary part-time (30.4 hrs p.f.), up to 05.10.2025 with possible extension not exceeding 12 months. In conjunction with the Research Governance Officer, provide high level administration of Research Governance activities ensuring that researchers conducting research at or with Townsville Hospital and Health Service meet legal and regulatory obligations; create and maintain a high-quality research base; and ensure compliance with relevant policies, guidelines and legislation pertaining to human research in Australia.

The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following Demonstrated knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of the relevant policies, guidelines and legislation pertaining to human research in Australia. Demonstrated high level experience in administrative roles, in particular, with high degree of skill in the following domains: attention to detail, timeliness, efficiency, reliability. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in ensuring the administration of a small organisational group is efficient and complete. Demonstrated knowledge and experience to manage research governance processes in a complex service delivery organisation. Demonstrated evidence of high level interpersonal skills, including high level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult and communicate with staff at all levels. Advanced level skills in the use of Microsoft Office suite for preparation of high level reports, flyers and management of an Excel database. Requirements While not mandatory, relevant tertiary qualification in an appropriate research discipline and/or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience (research and/or ethics knowledge), would be well regarded. Good Clinical Practice Certificate (or willingness to acquire within 6 months of commencement). Probation period may apply. Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
