The Regulatory & Industry Development Lead will be responsible for steering the company's regulatory strategy and fostering industry relations. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of regulatory environments and the ability to influence policy developments to benefit the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Regulatory Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive regulatory strategies aligned with business objectives to ensure compliance and promote growth. Monitor Regulatory Changes: Continuously monitor and analyse changes in regulatory policies and assess their potential impact on the organisation. Engage with Stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and key stakeholders to influence policy development. Advocate for Policy Changes: Represent the company's interests in regulatory forums and advocate for policy changes that support business goals. Lead Compliance Initiatives: Oversee regulatory compliance programmes, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations. Provide Strategic Advice: Offer strategic guidance to senior management on regulatory matters, helping to shape business decisions. Manage Industry Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and associations to foster collaboration and advance industry interests. Regulatory Representation: Act as the company's representative in industry discussions and regulatory consultations. Interpret Regulatory Requirements: Analyse and interpret complex regulatory requirements to provide clear guidance to internal teams. Develop Training Programmes: Create and deliver regulatory compliance training programmes for employees to ensure a high level of awareness and understanding. Ensure Timely Submissions: Manage the preparation and submission of regulatory documents, ensuring all deadlines are met. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with various departments to ensure regulatory compliance is integrated into all business operations. Prepare Reports: Generate detailed reports and presentations on regulatory activities and developments for senior management. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in regulatory processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to regulatory compliance through proactive management strategies.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification in regulatory affairs is advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a regulatory or compliance role within the energy sector. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of energy sector regulations, market dynamics, and policy frameworks. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence at all organisational levels. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in regulatory documentation and processes.
