We are currently searching for a Registered Nurse for our Supported Independent Living (SIL) residence.

About you:

AHPRA registration (mandatory)

Interest in primary health care and chronic disease management

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking abilities

Experience in complex nursing clinical services and/or aged care settings, hospitals, or community care

Qualifications

Bachelor of Nursing

Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

WWC & NDIS Worker Screening

Police Check

100 Points ID

Driver's licence

Selection Criteria

Availability Monday to Friday (set days and times yet to be determined)

At least one/two years of experience in a similar nursing role.
Experience in disability care is highly desirable.

Your tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

Deliver personalized nursing care to participants, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met by conducting comprehensive assessments of participants' health and medical needs.

Develop, implement, and regularly review individual care plans in collaboration with participants, their families, and management.

Responsible for administering medications for all participants as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and ensure accurate documentation.

Monitor participants' ongoing health conditions and provide appropriate medical care by administering medications, treatments, and medical procedures as prescribed.

Provide education to participants and their families on health management, lifestyle choices, and use of medical equipment.

Ongoing review of medication management & training and education to support workers and caregivers on proper health-related protocols and procedures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant assessments, care plans, and interventions by preparing reports as required by NDIS regulations and guidelines.

In the role of Registered Nurse, you will provide

clinical supervision

and be responsible for coordinating the

delivery of safe, effective and individualized care

to our care recipients and their families (including the training and compliance of auxiliary staff).

As a Registered Nurse you will:

Complete relevant documentation in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of the NDIS residents.

Maintain good clinical records and accurate documentation to ensure legal adequacy and the completion of AN-ACC requirements.

Maintain appropriate ordering, management, and administration of medications in accordance with policy and procedures.

Comply with the conditions, amendments, and regulations of related acts e.g.
Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1996.

Liaise with doctors and other health professionals and follow directions for administration of medications and treatments in accordance with legislative guidelines.

Complete the necessary reports, care plans, and other documentation required.

Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.

Demonstrated disability/aged care experience, the ability to work as part of a team and promote education and leadership.

Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Experience in developing care plans and staff training compliance.

An understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards.

An understanding of AN-ACC.

Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

Demonstrated well-developed computer and documentation skills.

National NDIS worker screening check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
