THE ROLE:
Calvary Mater Newcastle is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our outpatient services department. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate care in a patient-focused environment, with opportunities to work across the Medical Centre, Radiation Oncology, and the Day Treatment Centre.
DUTIES: Perform comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients. Timely, complete, and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress in medical records, communicating with other team members. Plan appropriate care in consultation with the patient and multidisciplinary team. Identify and implement discharge-planning requirements. Prioritise and implement planned care to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluate patient progress and revise nursing interventions as required. Function in accordance with legislation and policy relevant to practice. ABOUT YOU: Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Minimum 12 months recent experience in cancer nursing or an acute care setting. Graduate Certificate in Cancer Nursing or similar, or willingness to work towards it. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and during high-demand periods. Demonstrated computer literacy.
