The registered nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimizing access to care services. The registered nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred, quality, safe patient care.
The Registered Nurse Rural provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.
The Registered Nurse will:
Practise independently and interdependently.Assume accountability and responsibility for their own actions utilizing the decision-making framework of NMBA in the delegation of activities to enrolled nurses, assistants in nursing and other healthcare workers.Demonstrate evidence of increasing autonomy and use increasing levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee moves from a beginning practitioner to experienced clinician.This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of rural nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional nursing care.Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.Mandatory Requirements: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.About West Moreton Health West Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
