Located in tropical North Queensland, Cardwell is home to Australia's largest National Park with golden beaches and tropical rainforests close by, making it well suited to the adventurous at heart.
The importance of this role An opportunity for a permanent full-time Registered Nurse who is dedicated to providing the best care to our much-loved residents at our Rockingham Aged Care Service. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of care to improve the quality of life for our residents. Your attention to detail, well-developed communication, and interpersonal skills will enable you to understand and communicate with all our residents, their families, and broader care team.
As a Registered Nurse you will:
Provide direct patient care, including providing medications and interventions. Liaise with a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement and monitor bespoke care plans. Monitor and document resident health status and progress and make referrals as needed. Educate families about health conditions and medications. Provide guidance and support to our team of dedicated care workers. About you You have a natural empathy for the elderly, a compassionate health care professional drawn to this line of work. With the ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to residents' needs, you are also able to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplined work team.
Experience and qualifications to thrive in this role should include:
Current registration as a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Strong clinical knowledge and experience in Aged Care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Desirable: Having worked more than 6 months as an RN in an Australian RAC facility.
Pre-requisites: Current driver's licence Current National Police Certificate and NDIS Worker Screening Check – or the ability to acquire.
