The CFHN will perform health and development screening of infants/children in accordance with the Personal Health Record PHR schedule. The CFHN works within a strength-based, wellness focus, building parental confidence and skills. The nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary team utilising case reviews to plan care. A family partnership and anticipatory guidance approach is utilised to promote optimal infant and maternal mental health, child development and positive parent child relationships. Selection Criteria Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Postgraduate qualification in the relevant field of Child and Family Health Nursing and demonstrated experience/knowledge of Child and Family Health Nursing with 0-2 year old children with eligibility for personal regrade to Clinical Nurse Specialist grade 1 may be considered based on knowledge, experience and skill level. Demonstrated competencies in and knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in providing nursing care in the context of a multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent outcomes for families. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means and sound interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner. Demonstrated extensive experience working with vulnerable families in the family partnership model including those from diverse cultural and linguistic back grounds. Demonstrated ability to supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care with a willingness to show leadership and embrace change in the coordination and delivery of care Recent clinical experience relevant to the position including evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills. Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires.
