We are currently recruiting for an experienced underground coal Geotechnical Engineer that wants to take their geotechnical engineering capability to the next level and apply their skills to a wide range of geotechnical challenges and opportunities.
As a member of the Centennial Technical Team, you will collaborate with skilled professionals across technical, development and financial fields. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your career through additional training and qualifications. The Technical team is focused on providing high quality technical support, developing our people and optimising our assets with innovative 'out of the box' ideas to continuously enhance value.
This role is based at Centennial's Angus Place corporate office near Lithgow, with fortnightly travel to operational sites in the Lake Macquarie region.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Technical, your responsibilities will include:
Peer review of existing geotechnical engineering design work and support of geotechnical engineering designs for site operations Implementation of Centennial's Strata Framework and Strata Fatal Risk protocols across all sites Assist with the development of geotechnical monitoring and remediation plans for care and maintenance sites Providing geotechnical engineering support for government approvals including site operating approvals (e.g. High Risk Activity Applications, Approval Modifications) Completion of geotechnical engineering tasks for mine project development including feasibility studies Providing general technical services assistance including mentoring of geotechnical engineers and graduates Providing geotechnical engineering support to the Centennial Exploration program Centennial is offering:

Tertiary Qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering Minimum 7 years previous experience working across geotechnical investigation, design, and analysis Sound computer literacy skills and proficiency in AutoCAD and geological / geotechnical databases Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within team environments Strong work ethic and commitment to site safety, operational practices, and mine production targets Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal About Centennial
