Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.
A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.
Flexible Work Flexible working arrangements will be considered The Opportunity The Regional Corporate Administration Officer plays an important role supporting the NIAA to work in genuine partnership and enable self-determination of First Nations Communities.
The Regional Corporate Administration Officer is professional and approachable, providing assistance and services to a range of stakeholders and team members.
They make decisions within defined procedural parameters and offer suggestions for small scale improvements to processes within the team or branch.
These roles have work and stakeholder engagement responsibilities, working under the specific direction and support of senior staff.
They are responsible for: effective and efficient completion of a variety of administrative tasks in the team assist in delivering high quality professional corporate services to the NIAA work on small projects within the team maintaining professionalism and model the NIAA values and behaviours in all aspects of the position and demonstrate sound knowledge of the functions and objectives of the Agency These two vacancies are part of the place-based teams located in Toowoomba (1 vacancy) and Rockhampton (1 vacancy).
Additional travel to other NIAA sites across the network including Canberra, may be required.

Acknowledging reported issues or concerns and escalating for appropriate action, in keeping with procedures and guidelines build rapport and maintain internal and external relationships, respond to enquiries, provide straightforward advice on procedural matters, applying sound judgement and making evidence based decisions.
Liaising with other staff in the team, as necessary, to confirm action/s to be taken complete personal work allocations and offer to assist with other tasks, to ensure team performance goals are met and quality is maintained.
undertake defined procedural, administrative and service-related tasks that support NIAA business activities, may include one or more of the following: records and diary management, data processing, or maintain systems and procedures respond to written, telephone and online requests for routine information from partners using a range of software or digital applications create a culturally safe workplace by fostering an environment, observing strategies for working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

This position is required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and service providers.
You will require cultural competency, including: understanding of the matters impacting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Eligibility To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen.
