Job Summary The purpose of the Ramp Duty Manager role is to lead Ramp Services Agents, including Supervisors and Trainers, by managing performance, coaching, and development to ensure consistent service delivery. The Ramp Duty Manager is responsible for driving a strong safety culture and maximizing performance across Ramp Teams as an operational leader.
As a member of the Ramp Leadership Team, the Ramp Duty Manager plays a critical role in fostering strong relationships both internally and externally, aiming to achieve a sustainable business supported by strong team engagement and operational efficiencies.
Your activites Lead team members to meet and exceed service delivery standards and defined key performance criteria including but not limited to on time performance, baggage, safety/audit performance and labour budgets, providing training and mentorship as neededLead optimal operational efficiency through effective planning and management of manpower and equipmentProactively monitor, manage and report on station performance, analysing scorecards and identifying improvement strategies against industry, contractual, regulatory and internal measures, including improved performance in terms of cost and waste eliminationEnsure equipment is presented, maintained and functional inline with Swissport standards for operational readinessCompile and submit operations, performance and other relevant reportsCreate a positive, generative safety culture across the Ramp service delivery team, including strong safety reporting and Just CultureFoster an enhanced awareness of OHS, Aviation Safety and security policies with the team through regular and clear communication, observation, audits and, meetingsDrive collaboration and develop relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to deliver coordinated and streamlined client servicesYour profile Demonstrated leadership presence and maturityExtensive operational aviation experience, knowledge and understanding of the ramp services functionPractical knowledge of industrial relations processes including the full range of people management activitiesExperience in a fast-paced and time sensitive service operation managing the needs of multiple clients with divergent requirements with the ability to executeExcellent judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic settingStrong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating skills, strong communication skills - both written and oralAbility to work collaboratively and exercise initiative without supervisionWhat we offer Permanent Full-Time positionOn-site employee parking availableOpportunities for career advancementAccrual of annual and personal leaveComprehensive training and ongoing support providedAt Swissport, we believe in diversity, equal opportunity, and the power of our values to drive our success.
