Sentence Management Services; Specialist Operations; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; Brisbane
Sentence Management Services is a broad unit comprising of 11 individual teams.
These teams consist of five regional SMS teams, the Lawful Detention Unit with both a northern and southern location, and five centrally based teams that deliver services statewide, these being the Maximum-Security Advisory Team, the Serious Offenders Unit, Sentence Management Operations, Victims Register and the Specialised Clinical Services Unit which is a specialised clinical team that conduct assessment, intervention and high level advice to stakeholders on high harm and complex offenders.
This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering sentence management tasks and functions for prisoners referred or classified as maximum security and subject to a Maximum-Security Order.
The essential requirements for this role are: Knowledge of contemporary correctional and offender management practices Understanding of Queensland Corrective Services at a strategic and political level High level written communication skills and experience in preparing correspondence, reports, briefings, policy papers and submissions High level interpersonal communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships Demonstrated workplace and emotional resilience Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures High level ability to prioritise workloads and complete allocated tasks in accordance with legislative and procedural timeframes High level ability to analyse complex information and conceptualise how the information impacts on the management of high risk prisoners Experience working with sensitive or classified information.
