About the role As a Purchasing Manager, you'll play a key role in developing and executing a supply chain strategy tailored to meet the dynamic needs of our luxury resort. You'll drive procurement processes, manage supplier relationships, analyse purchasing trends, and work closely with department heads to ensure quality and cost standards are met. From coordinating deliveries to maintaining optimal stock levels, your expertise will support efficient resort operations and superior financial performance.
Your day to day Oversee and implement purchasing policies to ensure timely approvals of Purchase Requests and Orders. Conduct tenders, evaluate bids, and provide strategic recommendations to the Director of Finance. Manage cost control, verify deliveries, handle invoices, and participate in month-end inventory counts. Coordinate barge logistics, ensuring all paperwork and supplier quality standards, including HACCP compliance, are met. Support department heads with procurement needs and facilitate training on purchasing policies. Promote a performance-driven culture and enhance inter-departmental communication. What we need from you We're looking for a candidate with strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Solid financial acumen is essential, including the ability to negotiate and analyse purchasing data, along with a QLD Full Open Driver's License and Forklift License. The ideal candidate will also be capable of maintaining compliance with all internal and regulatory purchasing policies.
