The Abra Project - Projects/Paste & Infrastructure Engineer Abra Mining Pty Limited (Administrator's Appointed) is seeking a Projects/Paste & Infrastructure Engineer for a full-time position with the company based at our Abra Mine. Abra is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest standalone lead-silver projects capable of producing "Metal in concentrate" of between 90 – 100ktpa lead and 600 – 800kozs silver per year.
The Abra Mineral Resource geologically consists of multiple mineralised zones predominately consisting of an upper over-laying sediment-bound Apron zone that sits above an underlying hydrothermal feeder system called the Core zone. The most recent LOM plan (1.5Mtpa) based on the MRE2023, grade control model updates, and ore mined to date contains 16.3Mt @ 6.9% Pb indicating a mine life of 10+ years.
The Abra Mine construction and commissioning was completed in late 2022 and production ramp-up took place during 2023; the mine has now reached steady-state production volumes. The underground ore mined is processed through a conventional processing plant to produce a high-grade lead-silver concentrate that is exported via the Geraldton Port.
The Role This is an exciting time to join Abra as we enter our second year of production. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for the management and monitoring of the underground infrastructure and paste projects, ensuring that the highest technical and safety standards are maintained.
About You You will have:
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent Significant operational experience in a similar position working underground Engineering software skills and knowledge (Deswik skills and knowledge highly desirable) Experience in economic assessments inclusive of capital mine infrastructure and pastefill Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills Current "C" Class Western Australian driver's license First Class Mine Managers Certificate and/or WA underground Supervisors Certificate will be considered favorably Abra Life FIFO 8:6 roster ex Perth, or DIDO from regional centers
