Mine Closure Environmental Coordinator

Advancing everyday life.The Macquarie Coal Complex is comprised of West Wallsend Underground, Westside Open Cut, Macquarie Coal Preparation Plant and Teralba Colliery which all have completed coal mining with the site in the mine closure phase.Reporting to the Project Manager, the Mine Closure Environmental Coordinator will provide continuous technical advice and operational support relating to environmental management, mine closure activities and quality plan implementation.In this role you will be responsible for:Providing advice to operational areas and other team members on environmental compliance, participation in monitoring programs and improvement opportunities.Implement the Environmental Management systemAssist in the implementation of mine closure activitiesContinued implementation of the mine closure quality planWith professional, effective, interpersonal and communication skills as well as relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related field, you will also have a thorough understanding of the NSW environmental and approvals regulatory framework. You will also have a working knowledge of environmental systems and processes, with experience in mine rehabilitation being highly regarded.
