Job Description BESIX Watpac is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator for a large meat-processing facility project in Rockhampton.
This role will be responsible for:
Assist the Project Manager in the development and implementation of the Project Safety Management Plan.
Conduct operational audits, site observations and inspections, and toolbox talks.
Investigate all injuries, illnesses and notifiable incidents that arise at the BESIX Watpac workplace or through BESIX Watpac activities related to the project.
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures for the project.
Assist in the facilitation of consultation with workers and other duty holders, including employees of subcontractors.
Maintain project records in accordance with BESIX Watpac's National Safety Management System.
Assist in the review of Subcontractor OHS performance at the start of the contract through to completion of contract.
Qualifications The incumbent in this role will require:
Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
Prior project experience in a Safety Advisor or Coordinator capacity within commercial construction.
Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and work effectively within a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
