Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Project Officer History & Technology to provide administrative support to the Head History & Technology and to co-ordinate the administration of the History & Technology Department.
ABOUT MUSEUM VICTORIA:
Museum Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.
The Project Officer History & Technology is accountable for the efficient and effective administrative operation of the History & Technology Department through the provision of efficient and timely administrative systems, financial monitoring and management, communication with internal and external stakeholders, staff instruction and training, and project support for departmental activities.
The successful applicant will have:
Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative support to a senior manager while observing confidentiality and protocols.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to use initiative, work under pressure with minimal supervision, set priorities, generate innovative solutions, and meet competing deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to appraise changing Departmental requirements and develop appropriate administrative systems and procedures.
High-level communication, liaison and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to successfully engage with staff, students, volunteers and associates working at all levels of Museum Victoria, as well as external stakeholders, professional networks, and the public.
High standard of administrative and computing skills, including advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Records Management systems, finance systems and experience in gathering data and undertaking research using internal and external data sources.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial reporting.
The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a full-time, ongoing position. The salary on offer is $74.580 base of grade (pro rata) + 11% superannuation.
