Project Officer – Disability Advocacy

Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2025, Full-time SCHADS 5.1 $49.28 /hr + tax savings on approx. $15,900/yr Based in Woolloongabba Or Nerang (Gold Coast) + WFH ADA Australia is a statewide, not-for-profit, independent, community-based advocacy and education service, supporting and improving the wellbeing of older people and people with disability.
The Project Officer reports to and works closely with the Team Leader and the Manager, Disability Advocacy Services.
Joining a growing team in this new role, you'll be providing high level project management, systemic advocacy and administrative support to ADA Australia's Disability Advocacy service ensuring that all information, resources and services provided promotes, protects and ensures ADA Australia clients' full and equal enjoyment of all human rights, enabling community participation.
Responsibilities include: Provide project and administrative support to the Disability Advocacy team and service. Provide appropriate guidance and input into the internal processes. Develop and maintain our internal and external website content. Develop and maintain educational material on our service. Collate, analyse and use data to inform service performance. Support systemic advocacy responses. Ensure all statutory requirements are being met. Can you bring: Experience working with and/or advocating for people with disability of all ages, operating within a social justice framework. Knowledge of disability support programs and systems (NDIS). Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong administrative and computer skills. Well proven organizational and planning skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and apply legislation, policies and processes. Effective computer and administration skills. Qualification in business administration / project management (desirable). Benefits include: Based from Woolloongabba or Gold Coast. Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2025, Full-time. Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance. Valid Working with Children/Blue Card.
