About Bukmak Constructions Bukmak Constructions is a subsidiary business of ALPA. Created in 2016 to provide the East Arnhem Land communities which ALPA services with a viable, ongoing Construction business, with a focus on up-skilling, training and continuity of employment for local community members, whilst working alongside skilled trades mentors to deliver quality works on time and within budgets. Bukmak Constructions has developed into a significant provider of construction works in the East Arnhem Region and continues to have a positive ongoing presence within the communities its services. About the role Under the direction of the Commercial Manager (Bukmak) apply construction knowledge to enable the effective design and delivery of Building projects in Remote Communities. Enable efficient deliverables to the clients with which the business engages, inclusive of timelines and cost estimates for upgrades, repairs, new builds and remedial works. If required, have the capacity and skillset required to oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities In collaboration with the Commercial Manager, oversee construction projects from creation to completion. Select metrics to produce valid documentation, timelines, and estimates. Visit sites, interview clients, and review previous projects to provide practical effective design and end user functionality. Review supplied tender documents, analyse, and consult industry suppliers and representatives to collect all necessary data as required. Prepare plans, documentation, cost estimates, detailed quotes, to enable bid formation for tenders. Coordinate project managers and sub-contractors where required. Prepare internal reports. Foster relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and suppliers. Skills and experience Relevant hands-on Construction industry experience within the residential and light commercial arena. Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare and submit contract administration, procurement, and project management documentation. An understanding of communicating with remote sites and having empathy for the challenges faced in remote communities. Sound knowledge of construction and general maintenance processes, best practice workplace health safety and environmental management practices. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and various design and productivity tools. Good working knowledge of the requirements of the relevant legislation and policies.
