Join Challenger as a Project Manager on an initial 6 Month MTC You'll be leading a critical project that will shape Challenger's global presence.
Opportunity to work on high-profile regulatory project in the global reinsurance market.
We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD Office where you can expect to work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
This role is available for an initial period of 6 Months About the role This enterprise-level initiative is critical for delivering our strategic goals, spanning multiple workstreams and requiring a steady, outcomes-focused Project Manager to drive progress and regulatory compliance.
As Project Manager, you'll lead the end-to-end delivery of key projects and workstreams, taking ownership of everything from requirements gathering and design to deployment and ROI measurement.
You'll bring expertise in Agile delivery, stakeholder management, and vendor collaboration to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Additionally, you may support a second data transformation workstream, providing a broader scope of impact within the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to) Project Planning & Execution: Build a robust project plan with clear milestones for key deliverables.
As well as providing structure to existing initiatives, refining timelines, and ensuring execution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work with consultants, internal SMEs, and governance groups to align priorities and drive activity.
Present outcomes and plans to internal working groups and decision-makers.
Risk Management: Identify potential roadblocks, mitigate risks, and drive decisions to keep the project on track.
Delivery Oversight : Manage program backlogs, prioritize work, and oversee execution of both technical and non-technical deliverables.
Outcome Measurement : Track and report on project outcomes to ensure alignment with business ROI expectations.
Change Management : Coordinate business communications and ensure smooth operational handovers.
Vendor Management : Source and manage external vendors and resources as needed.
Skills & experience needed 5+ years in project management, ideally within financial services.
Proven experience with regulatory capital projects, reinsurance, or asset management Strong ability to manage governance, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Experience operationalising entities Highly desirable to also have Background in regulatory capital projects (e.g., APRA).
Experience with life insurance liabilities, annuities, or general reinsurance.
Familiarity with integrating business operations or asset management platforms.
