Project Engineer Level 1-2 - Goulburn - 9 month Temporary OpportunityYou may have been part of some big projects before, but this work is legacy-building.Your skills will be instrumental in designing and delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance mobility, sustainability, and safety for millions of people.In this role, you'll:Be responsible for developing and delivering road or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects to achieve road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.Managing project and delivery processes including the delivery of direct control and contract works to ensure nominated road or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects.Managing the cost estimates, procuring and overseeing service providers, monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs.Preparing contract documents for road works projects, including technical specifications.Implementing effective cost management systems to ensure efficient financial management of projects.Implementing appropriate procedures, guidelines, processes and practices, in collaboration with TfNSW specialists, to deliver a high level of workplace health and safety and environmental management on projects and contracts.Coordinating resources to respond to issues and incidents on the road network.This position involves project delivery, site work and travel across the Hume Region and at times you may be required to work away from home in order to deliver remote projects.Transport has flexible working arrangements in place, however as this is a delivery focused role responsible for leading teams you will need to be available to work from the Works Depot.This is a fixed term full time role (up to 30 August 2025) in the Maintenance and Delivery Team - located at either Goulburn or Mittagong.About youTo be considered for this role you will have a four-year civil engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications.You have knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road and other related traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance.You have experience in the preparation estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WH&S management plans, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans.You have experience in managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects.You have knowledge of tenders and contract management and computer-based tools, techniques for project and information management.You will be a proactive analytical thinker and possess high level communication skills. The ability to astutely manage time and work collaboratively and closely with stakeholders to deliver is paramount, as is your dedicated commitment to safety and quality.You have a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver licence and be willing to travel on occasion and work outside normal working hours.Who we areTransport for NSW provides a safe, integrated, and efficient transport system.
