We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Belmont Desalination Project where your contributions will directly impact our major infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity As the Project Engineer for the Belmont Desalination Project, you will be at the forefront of delivering one of Hunter Water's most complex and strategic initiatives. Your role will be responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the project.
What you'll do: Deliver Capital Works in accordance with Hunter Water's "Asset Creation Framework" Assist the Senior Project Manager, Engineers and Project Delivery Team. Manage concept design, detailed design, construction and commissioning activities for the delivery of new assets including management of consultants and contractors. Proactively manage internal and external stakeholders. Proactively manage safety, environmental and quality outcomes of projects. Contribute to knowledge management and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide written reporting on assigned works with regard to program, budgets and general performance. What you'll need to be successful: Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline (Other qualifications may be considered if the candidate has substantial Project Management experience). Experience managing capital works projects and programmes of work. Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with an ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Proven ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate a high level of self-motivation. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven workplace and to effectively manage challenges and changing priorities whilst still meeting team and corporate deadlines. Desirable Criteria: Demonstrated knowledge of design guidelines and practices for water infrastructure. Experience in engineering investigation, planning and design and preparation of tender documentation of water and wastewater infrastructure. At Hunter Water we offer a range of employee benefits.
