The Role Leadership: Provide strong leadership and build a project culture based on open, effective communication and collaboration between all SQE and Contractor project team members. Direct and indirect management of the project team, including site-based resources, project assigned resources and shared Project Management Office (PMO) resources. Manage the day-to-day relationships with Contractors, consultants, local stakeholders, landowners, and regulatory authorities. Manage and lead the work of a team; provide motivation, encouragement, and opportunities for development; manage any underperformance issues if required in consultation with People and Culture; actively monitor leave requests of team. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ): Be a champion for HSEQ by adhering to, communicating, and always promoting adherence to SQE policies. Model a proactive approach to HSEQ and support all SQE and Contractor team members to do the same to develop and maintain a strong HSEQ culture on site. Ensure that any notifiable incidents are correctly reported. Project Management: Implement and manage all aspects of the delivery of the project through construction and commissioning via development of robust project management systems. Deliver the project in line with SQE objectives, including time, cost and quality standards. Manage the activities required to deliver the project in conjunction with key internal stakeholders, external consultants and advisors including the Owner's Engineer. Manage the construction of the project including the wind farm and interconnection to the grid, and of the Contractors including design review, contract management, reporting, issue resolution, on-site inspections, and reviews. Manage project risks, ensuring risks are identified and that risk mitigations are implemented and are effective. Manage the grid connection activities undertaken by Electrical/Grid Manager. Timely and accurate reporting on the project as per the contractual obligations and SQE governance and reporting requirements. Contract Management: Manage the major contracts and minor contracts (including insurance) with assistance from the PMO. Manage the variation and claims processes under the relevant contracts along with reporting and oversight of the project contingency. Manage the obligations required under the project approvals, grid connection agreements, land agreements, lenders, and power offtake agreements, including provision of reporting and notices as required and as pertaining to the construction of the wind farm. Manage the Auditors and Owner's Engineer and co-ordinate the resolution of issues raised with the relevant contractors. Project Controls Management: Manage and report the overall project budget, aided by the finance group and the SQE PMO including preparation of cost of completes and liaison with Owner's Engineer for CTC and TTC certifications. Maintain the overall project program including tracking and reporting of progress, supported by the Project Planner, PMO and site representatives. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or greater in relevant studies such as Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or related technical qualification. A minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience delivering complex projects ideally within the renewable energy sector. Proven experience in managing health, safety, and environment on large, complex projects. Experience in managing complex major contracts, variation, and extension of time claims. Demonstrated experience in State Significant Developments. Experience working within the National Energy Market with AEMO / NSPs is desirable. Experience with environmental impact assessments and planning. Familiarity with landowner, stakeholder, and planning elements of the wind farm development process (desirable). Ability to maintain effective and collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solving with the ability to resolve and address issues as they arise. Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, including liaison and negotiation skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes. High-level organisation skills including well-developed priority-setting skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Computer literacy and strong competence with the Microsoft 365 suite of software is fundamental to this role.
