A local government organization is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a critical digital transformation project. This contract role offers the opportunity to improve business processes, deliver efficient solutions, and contribute to long-term community-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, Prioritizing, and Reporting:
Develop and manage project plans, adhering to governance and project frameworks. Identify and mitigate risks, escalate issues as necessary, and ensure timely delivery. Collaborate with teams to deliver projects and services within ITIL and change management frameworks. Create clear and accessible documentation for projects and processes. Adapt to changing priorities and environments to meet project and operational goals.
Analyzing Business Needs:
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through workshops, interviews, and workflow analysis. Lead continuous reviews of business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Provide evidence-based insights to inform decision-making and optimize user experiences. Identify and address potential issues and risks impacting project goals.
Designing, Building, and Testing Solutions:
Translate business requirements into design specifications and ensure optimal solutions are delivered. Lead the creation of testing use case scenarios and assist with test case development. Support functional, user acceptance, and production verification testing phases. Facilitate readiness activities, including defect resolution and training material preparation.
Delivering Solutions and Customer Support:
Assist with implementation activities, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Provide high-level support to ensure seamless delivery of services and solutions. Document decisions, resolutions, and learnings in knowledge management systems. Contribute to post-implementation evaluation to inform future improvements.
Tools:
Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Workflow modeling and prototyping tools ITIL-aligned frameworks and project management methodologies
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Business Analyst. Strong understanding of BABoK or equivalent qualifications. Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and negotiation skills. Experience with creating workflow diagrams, prototypes, and user needs analysis. Ability to adapt to dynamic priorities and deliver in a structured project environment. Current C Class Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Certificate.
