Business Development Western Australia & Technical Manager (APAC) Internal Job Title: Business Development Western Australia & Technical Manager (APAC) Business: Lucy Electric Australasia Ltd Location: Perth/Western Australia Job Reference No: 3664 Job Purpose Developing strategy and evaluation and business development of target markets in Western Australia (TBC) in both utility and non-utility sectors for the complete LE product range. Using detailed Lucy product knowledge to optimise routes to market driving product development and marketing to serve regional customers. Develop existing relationships with local partners, customers, and sales and marketing teams in APAC.
Key Accountabilities: With the support of LEA and regional teams in Malaysia and Thailand, create and implement dedicated and focused plans for existing and emerging/new customers and sectors in line with the Company's Medium Term strategic plan. Work with local teams and partners to gather data for the current market and future requirements and price levels. Gather/acquire current sales data to create a view of the target markets. Gain appropriate Client approvals and/or specification compliance for projects. Assimilate views and information on specific markets and customer requirements and drive general product developments. Establish and report any barriers to gaining market entry. With regional staff/offices, set outline targets for sales growth. Establish alternative potential routes to market: Agents, distributors, JVs, OEMs, local suppliers of PSS/Inverter SS. Regular reporting of business development plans and activities into the Sales Director of LEA and Regional Managing Director. Technical: Experience in installing, commissioning, and servicing all Lucy products and technology. Ability to hold detailed seminars and teach-ins with customers and partners. Coordinate and carry out technical activities in the target markets to facilitate the introduction of new products. Use detailed product knowledge to initiate demonstrations and/or trial orders with partners and major customers to gain experience and pre-qualification. Work with local businesses and partners to focus on product cost reductions by checking optimal compliance to specification and suggesting local/economical sourcing of components. Develop the strategy for developing the Energy Service business and infrastructure required as we expand the business in Australia, New Zealand, and ASEAN. Dimensions: The role will be based in Western Australia with regular travel in Australia, New Zealand, and ASEAN. This role reports to Sales Director - LEA and Regional Managing Director. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality, and service provided by the Business. Health & Safety – adherence to all Company Health & Safety Policies, Procedures, and Safe Working Practices. Experience Knowledge & Skills: Extensive and proven techno-commercial, business development, and sales experience. Extensive knowledge of all Lucy products and technology including installation, commissioning, and servicing. Ability to negotiate contracts and close orders leading to profitable business. Detailed knowledge of both high voltage and medium voltage switchgear products and automation systems down to component level. Previous experience of handling customers both directly and via agents or distributors. Good command of the English language. Computer literate with excellent command of MS Office. Excellent understanding of the key business issues in end-user accounts. Solution 'Selling'. Electrical or mechanical engineering degree / HND. MBA. Ability to communicate effectively in a one-on-one or group environment. Ability to demonstrate competent negotiation skills. Strong "customer comes first" focus and delivering on commitments.
