About the Role Our Global Strategy team is on the search for an outcome-driven leader that thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to make a lasting impact by managing multiple projects and growth initiatives that will shape the future of the business.
As the Strategy & Business Development Manager, you will be the primary interface for multidisciplinary teams evaluating and delivering on global strategic business priorities.
Your collaborative approach will see you leading market research and assessment, business case development in support of Alcoa's overall growth strategy.
Your key purpose and contributions will be: Identifying growth, partnership or investment opportunities, and participating or leading in the opportunity evaluation and early-stage development.
Due diligence of projects/entities including new country or new market entry.
Concept studies for brownfield, greenfield, M&A, JVA and adjacent opportunities including financial valuation and risk assessments.
Supporting negotiations with external stakeholders and counterparties including structuring key terms and reviewing entry documentation, term sheets and definitive agreements.
Evaluating the competitiveness of an industry player relative to Alcoa, and financial performance of industry segments.
Providing strategic analysis & advice including ad-hoc/one-off projects for region or corporation, generating insights for actionable recommendations and presentation for endorsement to regional and corporate executives.

What you can bring to the role Tertiary qualifications essential, MBA considered highly desirable with experience in mining, minerals or metals industry considered beneficial.
Background in a consulting, strategy, marketing or finance related role with a strong leadership presence.
Robust examples of your problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, a growth mindset, which will equip you to work independently and to navigate ambiguity.
Proven track record of building strong cross-functional relationships and partnerships to deliver project outcomes, ideally including with external partners and government representatives.
An ability to lead strategic research and analysis with demonstrable attention to detail, including financial and market analysis, partner or M&A due diligence, opportunity evaluation to recommendation development.
Highly skilled communication and influencing ability, with presentation skills to deliver to regional and corporate executives.
Ability to negotiate, gain agreement and structure deals – principles, process, and execution of.
