About the roleThe Program Manager – Community & Recreation drives the heart of CRCS through the Community Centre in Belconnen.
This is an exciting position within our organisational leader's team, where you can bring your entrepreneurial and community skills together.
The Program Manager will support high quality and innovative service delivery of the "Get Involved" program and oversee the use and bookings for our community facilities which include, Belconnen Community Centre, Holt Community Space and Humpy Hall.
Main duties and responsibilities include:Work collaboratively with local stakeholders, including young people, families, community organisations and government agencies to identify community need and create positive opportunities for young people, older people and the community in general.In consultation with organisational leaders, develop and drive programs and services such as community venue hire, events and excursions across the region, recreation activities and Café & Shop.Build the "Get Involved" program to a thriving high-quality program for older Canberran's and ensure that the quality standards and contracted outputs are being met.Oversee the management of the Belconnen Community Centre and other community facilities (e.g.
Holt and Humpy Hall) in collaboration with the WHS & Facilities team, ensuring the centre maintains a safe, well-presented and high occupancy.Manage the recruitment, engagement and rostering of employees and facilitators across the various programs.And other activities as per the Position Description.Ideal candidate:The ideal incumbent will be an experienced and innovative professional, with considerable knowledge and experience in the development and engagement of the community, including leading commercial/social enterprise ventures and events that enhance the profile of Capital Region Community Services.
In addition, prior experience working with young people, older people and people from diverse backgrounds and an understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred frameworks and practices would be beneficial.
Kindly note that this role may at times be required to work outside of regular business hours to support the delivery of events and programs.
Desirable qualification and experience:Tertiary qualifications in the area of Community Education and Skills Development, Business Development, or other relevant field.First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.Current driver license and use of a roadworthy, registered, comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes.Proven experience developing events, community engagement with a variety of audiences, in particular youth, older people and people from diverse backgrounds and seniors.Possess the personal attributes of optimism, resilience and flexibility.High level of analytical ability and sound judgement.Excellent interpersonal skills (perceptive, diplomatic, cheerful, "can do" attitude) and the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.CRCS also requires all employees to:Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment.Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position.DiversityWe encourage applications from all backgrounds.
