Firesticks values and respects country, local knowledge, and the protocols of Elders and Ancestors. About the role:The Program Coordinator is a 12-month full-time position that plays a critical role in the Firesticks team by coordinating, supporting, and managing the successful development, delivery, evaluation and reporting of Firesticks programs, projects and research. While the role is remote it is preferable for the desired candidate to be based in Northern Queensland.  Supporting operational staff in the planning and development of scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives; Supporting the fundraising team with the tender and grant application process including design, submission and review; andAssisting with contract negotiations and drafting of ICIP and confidentiality agreements with project partners.Project DeliveryProviding diverse support to project and administration teams including the establishment of management tools and processes that support the delivery of project outcomes; Tracking and monitoring the progress of project milestones and deadlines and following up with all stakeholders as required; andObserving, complying, and providing support to assigned Regional teams regarding workplace health and safety processes and procedures.Project monitoring, evaluation and reportingCoordinating the monitoring and reporting of projects and programs to ensure the timely and accurate provision of programs and reports to project partners, funders and management team;Liaising with the communications team to increase awareness of programs; andCoordinating system and process improvements, consistent application of user procedures and the integrity and maintenance of program data and record management systems to ensure best practice and continuous improvement.Staff ManagementFacilitating high team performance through regular performance reviews, maintaining a safe work environment, nurturing team morale, and providing regular contact and feedback opportunities. Supporting and providing opportunities for skill development, setting strategic goals and ensuring adherence to policies. OtherCarrying out other duties as directed. About you:Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Firesticks, with a track record of working with communities, stakeholders and individuals to create a positive impact.Two or more years of experience in project management or coordination and implementation of tasks requiring strong organisational skills and long-term planning.Minimum of 12 months of proven experience managing a small team.High level of attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.Experience working to tight deadlines and managing multiple streams of work.Strong problem-solving skills in identifying problems and applying a framework to generate options for solutions with evidence or rationale. Ability to learn how to utilise IT systems related to contact and relationship management, resource and document management, and automated communications (such as monday.com, Google Drive, Mailchimp, Eventbrite etc). Desired skills and experience:Experience working in Far North Queensland, with an understanding of NRM agencies and the funding landscape.Understanding and utilising project management tools and processes (such as Gantt charts, risk identification and mitigation plans).Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills with an ability to seek, interpret, and synthesise data.Demonstrated ability to engage and work with Aboriginal communities on sensitive environmental and cultural issues How to apply:Please use the 'Apply' button to submit your application, including your current resume and a one-to-two-page cover letter addressing why you would be suitable for the role and how your values align with Firesticks.
