The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing efficient production operations and ensuring timely delivery of orders.
This role involves supervising a team of floor staff, participating actively in the manufacturing process, and upholding quality standards and safety protocols.
Our clients produce electronics for a number of industries including Defence industry.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison between the Manufacturing Manager and floor employees, facilitating clear communication and ensuring a smooth workflow.
Delegate tasks to floor staff and monitor performance to meet production targets.
Oversee product quality and production efficiency to ensure timely completion of orders.
Monitor consumables and coordinate with the Production Manager for timely restocking.
Assist in the recruitment and training of production staff when necessary.
Conduct regular testing and documentation of product results to maintain quality assurance.
Collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager to enhance production procedures and processes.
Train floor staff on various production processes, including electronic time tracking, quality checks, soldering techniques, and machine operation.
Uphold workplace health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Report environmental hazards or incidents promptly and adhere to company environmental policies.
Key Relationships: This role reports to the Production Manager and involves close collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager and Quality Manager to ensure operational excellence and product quality.
Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Team Leader or at least 1 year as a Production Supervisor.
Completion of a management-focused course or certificate such as a Diploma in Leadership and Management, or Cert IV in Project Management (or proven experience in lieu of formal qualifications).
Experience in workload prioritisation using a schedule.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to assess the quality of work produced by the electronics manufacturing team.
High level of computer literacy.
Proficiency in identifying electronic components.
Must be an Australian citizen to obtain appropriate security clearances.
Desirable: Certificates in Electronics Assembly.
Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, particularly aerospace manufacturing.
Experience using an ERP system.
IPC Qualifications, such as IPC-A-610, IPC/J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement techniques and methodologies.
