Mechanical Fitter

Job Summary Chelona Engineering is currently seeking Site Based Fitters/Boilermakers/Welders for casual positions for Maintenance days, Breakdowns, and Shutdowns on Draglines and Wash plants at multiple sites across the Bowen basin. We also service the sugar industry with small projects in the Mackay based sugar mills.
12 hour shifts plus travel to and from site paid at the trade casual rate. Vehicles supplied to and from our Mackay workshop.
Well above Award Pay Rate and paid at a flat rate increasing super. Permanent opportunities are available after a probation period.
For the past three years, we have averaged 3 to 4 site days per week on an annual basis and currently are unable to service all requests from our clients due to labour restrictions. There will also be opportunities to assist in our workshop facility throughout the year.
Minimum Requirements: All applicants must be trade qualified or ticketed.Current Standard 11 and Coal Medical would be desirable but not essential.Current Driver's license.Must have a good work ethic and take pride in workmanship.Good communication skills and be able to work unsupervised.Chelona Engineering is a rapidly growing Mechanical Engineering/Fabrication Company with a can-do attitude and a family-friendly environment where you are treated with respect and not just a number in the system.
