Production Line Leader

Overview The Production Line Leader role is responsible for providing support and direction to production employees on afternoon shift, while allocating appropriate resources to meet business objectives and coordinating efficient and high-quality work practices within the department.
Leading a growing team of approximately 40 production employees in the Sewing and Tailoring departments, this permanent full-time role is rostered to work 2.30pm to 11.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 1.30pm to 7.30pm on Fridays.
Responsibilities Help set production targets, monitor and report on results.Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and changesCommunicate clear job expectations; plan, monitor and appraise job resultsIdentify training and/or development needs within the departmentMaintain specification documents to ensure current work practicesEnsure quality and/or manufacturing problems, corrective actions and non-conformances are reported to the appropriate authority immediately, to be rectified as a matter of priority Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have the following:Ability to lead and motivate staff effectively is essentialBasic Microsoft Office Proficiency (Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Word) essentialDemonstrated ability to meet quality standards essentialDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities desirableDemonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing practices desirableDemonstrated competency in manufacturing procedures desirableBehave professionally and supportively when working with individuals from a variety of backgroundsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skills
