Opportunity to work in a Government DepartmentThe Client Our Client is a Cairns based Government Department that works across the North Queensland region.
The Opportunity The successful candidate will be responsible for providing service and advice on the diverse range of WHS activities and environmental technical matters relating to the building, construction, and maintenance industry.
Oversee the WHS management and environmental systems for the region to ensure compliance is being achieved and risks are identified and managedProvide WHS and environmental advice to senior management and regional staffAssist with investigating dangerous incidents, hazards and workplace accidents, conducting WHS and environmental management system audits, inspecting construction sites, maintenance activities.About You Specific capabilities and requirements for this role are:
must have extensive/strong experience in WHS in the construction industryconstruction industry related trade qualification (highly desirable); andcurrent Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction CardPlease note: Travel is an integral activity for this role and will require overnight stays of up to 4 nights (or as negotiated). As the majority of this will be road travel, you will need to possess a current Driver's License. There will also be occasions where you will be required to travel by (light) aircraft.
