Our client is a prominent ecological consulting firm dedicated to fostering sustainable partnerships and ecological equilibrium in NSW, VIC and QLD.
They currently have openings for accomplished Principal Ecologists and Lead Ecologists to join their Ecology Team.
Position: Principal Ecologist + Lead Ecologist Responsibilities
These are full-time permanent positions that offer the flexibility of remote work.
As a Principal or Lead Ecologist, your duties will encompass:
Conducting fieldwork as needed, including the possibility of travel across various regions of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and Australia.Managing a wide range of BDAR (Biodiversity Assessment and Reporting) and BSSAR (Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment and Reporting) projects.Nurturing professional relationships with clients in various sectors.Taking on leadership and mentoring roles within the field of ecology.Overseeing ecological projects from scoping to final delivery.Preparing research materials, conducting analysis, performing field surveys, and crafting technical reports.Assisting in the creation of submissions and proposals.Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations and industry standards.To thrive in this role, you should possess: A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, Zoology, or a related field.A minimum of 8 years of practical experience, preferably with consulting experience.A willingness to engage with a team dedicated to delivering Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessments.Highly desirable skills in vegetation community identification and botanical expertise within NSW, VIC or QLD.An advantage would be possessing an existing BAM accreditation.Demonstrated ability to offer technical ecological guidance on large-scale projects.Extensive experience in conducting ecological surveys within NSW or QLD.A willingness to travel for fieldwork assignments.An eagerness to mentor junior team members.Company Benefits You'll Enjoy:
