Be a part of the HR Branch with this exciting permanent opportunity based in Bowen Hills. As the Principal Rehabilitation Advisor, you will lead and manage the implementation of rehabilitation and return to work initiatives, strategies, and programs to improve overall organisational health in alignment with the Department of Health policy requirements.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Rehabilitation Director, your role will be responsible for providing high level, timely expert advice to Department of Health leaders, employees, and other stakeholders.
You will also contribute to the wider rehabilitation and safety management agenda being pursued by the Department in partnership with key stakeholders.
The successful personYou will have demonstrated:
Extensive experience in the management of complex work and non-work-related injuries and illnesses, and broader fitness for duty issues, with a record of effective application in achieving positive outcomes.Proven experience in coordinating and implementing organisation-wide programs to deliver continual improvement outcomes specific to employee wellbeing, management of psychosocial risks and hazards, health promotion, and workplace rehabilitation.High level ability to analyse, plan, and create innovative health, injury prevention/management, fitness for duty, rehabilitation, and return to work initiatives and to implement and integrate them within a diverse workforce and geographically dispersed organisation.Extensive knowledge and application of relevant legislation pertaining to the management of employee wellbeing, injury, disability, and return to work issues including workers compensation, privacy, ER/IR, reasonable adjustment.Proven ability to provide and prepare clear concise reports, plans, or briefs on complex matters while managing competing priorities and meeting timeframes.About usThe Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
