We are seeking a professional with a strong background in managing projects, with a particular focus on contaminated land and/or PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) management and providing expert advice on Queensland's regulatory framework.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing business process documents, leading stakeholder engagement externally and across government and will work closely with technical specialists to assimilate information about PFAS and other emerging contaminants. The immediate priority for this role is to develop an operational policy for managing PFAS within the Queensland regulatory framework.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of business process documents for managing PFAS in Queensland, ensuring alignment with State and Commonwealth regulatory requirements.Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on regulatory compliance associated with contaminated land management and the impacts and risks of PFAS on the environment.Prepare high-quality briefing notes, reports, and presentations, outlining key issues, risks, and recommendations.Organise and lead meetings with other government agencies, as well as external stakeholders, including industry representatives and community groups.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address contaminated land issues, especially in relation to PFAS.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and emerging trends in contaminated land management.Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to support policy development and project delivery.Key Skills and ExperienceExtensive experience in managing contaminated land projects, with specific expertise in PFAS management preferred.Strong understanding of Queensland's contaminated land regulatory framework, including the Environmental Protection Act 1994.Proven ability to write clear and concise briefing notes, reports, and presentations for senior management.High-level communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting complex information to diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to organise and lead meetings with external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and consensus.Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with a focus on government, industry, and community groups.Experience in policy development, particularly in the environmental or regulatory context, is highly desirable.Desirable skillsBachelor's degree (or higher) in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Extensive experience in contaminated land management, environmental consultancy, or government advisory roles.Applicants from the previous vacancy need not apply.
