Support our Office of Research and Innovation in leading the development, implementation, regulation and evaluation of the Genomics Program in alignment with the Queensland Health Genomics and Precision Medicine Strategic Roadmap 2021-2026. This is a 12-month fixed term temporary opportunity with flexible full-time hours located in Brisbane CBD.
The purpose of the Principal Project Officer role is to support ORI in leading the development, implementation, regulation and evaluation of the Genomics Program in alignment with the Queensland Health Genomics and Precision Medicine Strategic Roadmap 2021-2026.
Key responsibilities: Undertake rigorous systematic evidence assessments, analyse complex data and statistics and use findings to provide cost-effectiveness, risks, issues, and future opportunities advice to Health Services Executives and Executive Director Office of Research and Innovation on new genomics technologies, treatments and therapies, models of care.Monitor, review and critically interpret academic literature, interstate and national genomics recommendations and policies, and information published by health technology agencies. Synthesise and communicate conclusions to inform decision-making and provide a comprehensive and cohesive way for Queensland Health to leverage expertise and learnings.Independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, prepare and present high quality and authoritative analytical documents, briefs, papers, correspondence, and reports.Provide advice, tools, systems, and guidance on the application and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data and various types of economic impact analysis to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Undertake and facilitate collaborative data analysis of varying complexity with clinician researchers.Uplift the genomics implementation, evaluation and health economics capability of the Queensland Health workforce statewide through the development, delivery and evaluation of training and education initiatives.Engage with a range of stakeholders including clinicians, consumers, academics and industry on the uptake and appraisal of new genomic technologies and treatments.The successful person You will have demonstrated:
Experience in the development and execution of evidence strategies and plans in healthcare projects within timeframes, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.Experience and understanding of health technology assessment methodology particularly as regards efficiency (technical, economic and social) and equity (equal need and equal access) in health care.Ability to understand the conduct of research, as well as implementation, evaluation, data modelling and analytics concepts to translate health economic principles and research findings for policy design, health program implementation and evaluation.High level communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external health sector stakeholders.Advanced project management skills, including the ability to plan and manage the delivery of numerous competing priorities, define tasks, set priorities and coordinate activities effectively to meet deadlines, with a track record of proven and sustained outcomes.Ability to identify, comprehend and distil key information from multiple sources.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
