With a focus on delivering infrastructure projects as part of the Go for Gold Fund, the Playgrounds & Tuckshops Upgrade Program and the Australian Government's School Upgrade Fund, the team provides strategic advice, program and project management ensuring the program deliverables align with strategic objectives.
The Infrastructure Services Division is looking for a Principal Project Coordinator to manage and lead a small team to collaborate with stakeholders to support the infrastructure delivery of projects in the:-
Go for Gold FundSchool Playgrounds and Tuckshops Upgrades Program and;The Australian Government's Schools Upgrade Fund.A background in program or contract management would be desirable.
About the Role As the Principal Project Coordinator, you will have responsibility for the following:
Undertake high level planning to develop the current packages for implementation with school and early childhood communities across Queensland to modernise and optimise school facilities.Lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of project and program delivery including financial and human resources, initial planning, construction and commissioning of multiple complex projects within a legislative and contractual framework.Develop, maintain and monitor critical relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a high level of client satisfaction.Managing critical project information such as milestones and expenditure to ensure project data is up to date at all times within departmental systems - including SAPSupport the work of other team members through mentoring and training opportunities.Travel, including local and overnight travel is a requirement of the role. The successful candidate must be able to perform this travel and if required, will be provided a departmental vehicle where appropriate.The Principal Project Coordinator reports to the Director, Priority Programs, Special Program Delivery based in the Brisbane CBD.
About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
Demonstrated experience delivering government infrastructure projects including experience delivering numerous projects concurrently across geographically diverse locations.Demonstrated high level capacity to work effectively under pressure and within strict time constraints.Demonstrated effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to represent the department and to establish and maintain mutually productive partnerships with clients, team members and other stakeholders.Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary concepts, strategies and issues associated with physical asset management, and the application of this knowledge, to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs and expectations of clients.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
