As the Principal Project Officer, you will be part of a small professional team delivering key projects within the division to serve the Queensland community across the areas of women's safety and violence prevention. Reporting to the Assistant Director-General for the Women's Safety and Violence Prevention branch, you will work closely with senior executives and key external stakeholders. If you are skilled in communicating with influence in complex environments, enjoy challenging projects, strategic analysis, and are able to prepare high-level submissions and reports, this role may be for you.
This position provides high-level strategic analysis, information, advice, and support to the Assistant Director-General and leaders within the Branch. A critical aspect of the position is to deliver signature projects to enable the branch to serve the Queensland community across women's safety and violence prevention.
Your key responsibilities are:
Deliver a portfolio of projects in consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.
Provide expert, comprehensive, and timely strategic advice and support to the WSVP senior leadership on key issues impacting the delivery of key projects across the WSVP Branch.
Undertake projects of a complex, sensitive, or contentious nature.
Prepare high-level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings, and correspondence relating to significant projects.
Establish and foster collaborative networks and partnerships to enhance, develop, and identify opportunities to facilitate the effective and efficient implementation of key project deliverables.
Foster an equitable, ethical, and safe work environment that emphasizes a people-centric focus.
Support the branch leads in the delivery of the DJAG Strategic Plan by encouraging accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Technical skills, abilities, and cultural capability:
Collaborates with management to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Makes appropriate decisions based on project plans and timeframes.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Demonstrates superior communication and interpersonal skills, including a capacity to liaise with all levels of staff in a complex environment.
Efficiently participates in and manages highly complex stakeholder relationships, strategy and policy implementation, and service delivery.
Speaks effectively with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Demonstrates expertise and experience in working with First Nations community leaders, local councils, government agencies, and stakeholders to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
Maintains an optimistic outlook and fosters a workplace culture where all individuals share a personal responsibility for promoting the physical and psychological health and safety of others.
Displays significant levels of autonomy and delegation, allowing for flexibility in adapting plans and policies as needed.
Drives a culture of respect and inclusivity across the organisation, prioritising service delivery that is accessible and considers diverse needs.
