The Property and Procurement team is responsible for the management of the Department's owned and leased property portfolio as well as the reporting, risk management, governance and compliance to the Queensland Procurement Policy in relation to all sourcing and contract management functions. Property and Procurement is part of the department's Corporate Services division.
As Principal Procurement Officer, you will specifically: Develop and manage procurement services strategy, governance frameworks and plans in line with strategic outcomes defined by the department and/or government.Provide high-level strategic advice and analysis to senior management and departmental officers on procurement practices by maintaining a sophisticated knowledge of contemporary issues impacting on procurement.Oversee complex submissions, plans, reports, briefing materials and correspondence on significant procurement-related issues relevant to the department.Develop, implement and review procurement systems, policies and procedures, and training to deliver effective and efficient strategic procurement within the department in accordance with relevant legislation.Manage strategic procurement functions to ensure best practice and coordinate the establishment of supply arrangements, including provision of expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities.Establish and maintain strategic and effective working relationships within the department and across government agencies and other external bodies.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
