Townsville University Hospital, located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.
An opportunity has arisen for a Principal House Officer to join the team in Dermatology on a fixed term temporary full-time basis, for 12 months. The Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.

About your opportunity: Fixed term temporary full-time, 12 months The primary function of the position is to provide high quality clinical care to patients of The Townsville Hospital. In addition, the Registrar will provide supervision of junior medical staff, including some responsibility for providing teaching to junior medical staff and medical students. Comprehensive post graduate training program is conducted at The Townsville Hospital.
The Townsville Hospital is a tertiary teaching hospital for North Queensland and has a patient case mix commensurate with that level of care provision. This included patients from the local area and from the surrounding regions. This position will interact with a full range of medical and surgical specialties.
What's on offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $185,645 p.a. comprising:Salary range of $4966.90 to $5470.70 p.f. Degree Qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution and hold Current General Registration as a medical practitioner or eligible for Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
