Principal Employee Relations Advisor

Our client is seeking a Principal Employee Relations Advisor to join their Human Resources team.
This role is pivotal in developing and delivering effective industrial and employee relations practices aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
You will be instrumental in supporting the achievement of organisational culture and people experience outcomes, providing specialised advice and practical assistance to resolve complex employee relations issues.
What you'll do: Provide expert advice on public sector employment relations legislation, helping to shape our client's approach to industrial strategy.Develop strong relationships with external stakeholders, working closely with unions to foster a collaborative approach to employee and industrial relations.Educate leaders within the organisation, building their skills, knowledge, and confidence in handling employee relations matters.Prepare high-level discussion papers on complex employment relations issues, assisting in dispute resolution when necessary. What you bring: Experience in applying knowledge of legislation, industrial awards, agreements, and instruments.Experience in developing industrial and employee relations policies.Ability to act as an industrial advocate in tribunals and other forums.Experience delivering high-level industrial and employee relations advice.High level communication skills including presentations, negotiation and influencing skills.Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary HR team.Ability to build productive relationships with team members, stakeholders and unions.Experience in case management and resolution of workplace issues.
