Government Partnerships; Office of Deputy Director General; Policy Planning and Investment; Brisbane In the role of Principal Advisor you will be part of the team responsible for an intergovernmental relations function within TMR, with a strong focus on policy coordination and partnerships with local governments and peak bodies.
This role undertakes travel within Queensland which may include overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:Contribute to TMR's strategic partnership with key external and internal stakeholders who are critical in the department's interaction with local government.Deliver functions in support of the Roads and Transport Alliance (Alliance) and build the team's credibility and reputation needed for positive ongoing partnerships.Support and implement governance processes to effectively manage the implementation and operation of the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme policy.Represent the Roads and Transport Alliance at meetings with external stakeholders, on committees, and working groups across Queensland including the Regional Roads and Transport Groups.Develop and critically analyse complex policy issues, including strategic priorities for Queensland.Prepare written correspondence on behalf of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and Executive Director, such as ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, and policy/research papers on complex policy issues relevant to the transport network.Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the offices of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and local government representatives to resolve issues, provide advice and develop recommendations to support the effective operations of the team.Drive identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities related to policies, processes, and projects to enhance the team's program of work.Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions:Due to this role undertaking travel, an open class C driver's license is required.Requirements of the Role:Strong time management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs.Ability to build and sustain enduring relationships through stakeholder engagement to enable better customer-focused outcomes.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor the approach to the audience.Contributing proactively to the broader team as a senior team member and taking personal responsibility for the delivery of your work.Additional Benefits:Work and Life balance, including 'flex time' and flexible work arrangements and a working from home option.Beautiful City location close to the Brisbane Botanical Gardens with just over a 10-minute walk from Central Station.Work with a supportive team, with a high level of training and development invested in each staff member.Generous leave and superannuation.Please tell us about any additional support or adjustments, such as interpreting services, physical requirements, or assistive technologies, that will better enable you to shine during the recruitment process.
