About the Opportunity:The Principal Advisor, Office of the Executive Director - Infrastructure Delivery contributes to the day-to-day management of the Office of the Executive Director and provides advisory and executive support to the Executive Director to assist in meeting the strategic and operational goals of Infrastructure Services Division.
About the Role:The Principal Advisor, Office of the Executive Director - Infrastructure Delivery will be a highly organised individual who can work across boundaries, multiple initiatives and influence others to deliver clear, creative and future-focused advice in a dynamic environment.
The role requires you to investigate and analyse issues, lead and influence others, use your ability to communicate complex concepts and make informed customer-led recommendations to senior and executive management.
Key Responsibilities:Provides expert advice and support on strategic policy issues, projects and activities within the work unit including preparing written briefs to the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General and Assistant Director-General.Undertakes a critical review of materials including cabinet documents, internal briefs, caucus liaison, events and media materials to ensure quality products are progressed by the Office of the Executive Director.Manages the staff, performance and operations of the Office of the Executive Director including correspondence, budget requirements and human resource matters.Encourages an environment in which high quality services are delivered by continually seeking improvements in administrative systems and correspondence processes.Provides executive support services, attends meetings and follows up action items to support the Executive Director.Briefs the Executive Director, both verbally and in writing, on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management or attention.Coordinates and contributes to the strategic direction, activities and Infrastructure Delivery priorities of the unit and works with a high degree of autonomy.What we are looking for in our Principal Advisor:Strong organisational skillsFlexibility to work across a number of Infrastructure Delivery priorities and projectsExceptional writer and communicatorExcellent attention to detail and coordination skillsGreat at stakeholder engagement and negotiationInnovative and collaborativeKnowledge/understanding in an infrastructure service provision setting is beneficialHow to Apply:Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history).Attach a 2-page statement on how your achievements and capabilities meet the requirements of the role as detailed above and within the attached Role Description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).The Department of Education is a family inclusive workplace.#J-18808-Ljbffr
