As the Principal Advisor, you will report to the Manager, Operations and provide support to the governance and operational functions to develop, monitor, and implement OIR's Health Safety Wellbeing Management System within OIR's business operations.
You will work with limited supervision to lead and support continual improvement activities to ensure compliance with the OIR HSW Management System.
Key Responsibilities: Project managementSupporting implementation of the OIR HSW Management SystemAnalysing safety system performance, legislative compliance, and due diligenceSupporting design and implementation of health and safety management plansLiaising and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, subject matter expertsRepresenting the OIR with a particular focus on the implementation of health and safety requirementsAbout the Team: The Organisational Safety team is part of the Organisational Culture and Safety unit that leads strategic programs aligned to the Public Sector Commission outcomes for health and safety and inclusive workplaces.
The Organisational Safety team is accountable for: Establishing and maintaining a contemporary health, safety, and wellbeing management system incorporating governance, strategy, policies, and procedures.Building manager and employee capability in work health and safety requirements.Partnering with business units to support effective hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigation.Promoting awareness of health and safety hazards and supporting the identification and implementation of effective control measures.Coordinating and facilitating pro-active engagement with our health and safety representatives (HSRs).Interested in applying?
