About The Role
Role Purpose: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Prescription Builder Team Leader to lead and manage a team of Prescription Builders. In this role, you will ensure that prescriptions are processed accurately, in line with all legal and regulatory requirements, and maintain the highest service standards for patients. You will also play a key role in developing and supporting your team to achieve their full potential.
Key Accountabilities: Processing Patient Prescriptions: Efficiently and accurately process patient prescriptions following written procedures. Ensure all prescription details are correct, make amendments where needed, and prioritize processing based on urgency. Identify and resolve issues with prescriptions, referring complex cases to the Prescriptions Management Team. Adherence to Regulatory and Legal Requirements: Verify that all prescriptions meet legal and regulatory standards. Accurately input prescription details, ensuring patient care is not impacted. Maintain records following Good Documentation Practices. Collaboration and Relationship Building: Work closely with other departments, including Screening Pharmacists and the Dispensing Unit, to resolve queries and maintain an efficient workflow. Build strong relationships with other teams to support seamless processes. Team Leadership and Development: Set clear performance objectives for the team, aligned with business goals. Manage recruitment, onboarding, and first-line employee relations, including return-to-work and disciplinary matters. Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to drive performance, develop talent, and ensure succession planning. About You
Educated to NVQ level 3 – Pharmacy Technician Working knowledge of the GPhC regulations on valid prescriptions and dispensing practices i.e. labelling, storage, and hygiene requirements Working knowledge of dispensing a variety of low- and high-tech therapies preferably within a hospital dispensing environment Excellent leadership and management skills and the ability to get the best out of team Ability to interpret prescriptions efficiently and accurately Ability to work in an organised and neat manner whilst maintaining line clearance Ability to identify erroneous components on an order Ability to work within own limitations and ask questions when unsure about any element of the dispensing process or have too much work Ability to maintain very high levels of concentration for extended periods of time Outstanding attention to detail – patient safety must come first Highly conscientious Must be a team player and willing to support and train colleagues and new staff Must be proactive in learning about new drugs About Us
