Job Title: Practice Nurse – Airlie Beach
Practice Information:
The practice is a busy mixed billing practice that is committed to their community of patients and the wider region. They have a large skin cancer procedures clinic and a midwife onsite so there are lots of babies and antenatal visits on a weekly basis. The team is mentoring, collaborative and genuine in helping you grow your knowledge and skills.
Position Description:
The plays a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to their patients. You will work collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care, promote health and well-being, and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. This dynamic position requires a compassionate, skilled, and adaptable nurse who can thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages, including but not limited to assessment, triage, wound care, immunizations, and administering medications as prescribed.Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment.Health Promotion: Educate patients on health and wellness, preventive care, and management of chronic conditions, focusing on lifestyle modifications and self-care.Triage: Assess and prioritize patient needs, making timely referrals to other healthcare professionals or services when necessary.Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including electronic health records (EHR), and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.Medication Management: Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and educate patients on proper medication usage - where appropriate.Infection Control: Implement and monitor infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and clean clinical environment.Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care, including CPR and first aid.Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare providers, including general practitioners, specialists, and allied health professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and ongoing professional development to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.Patient Education: Provide patients with clear and understandable information about their conditions, treatment plans, and medications.Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties, such as appointment scheduling, managing patient records, and inventory control.Qualifications & Experience: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Enrolled Nurses will also be considered, experience dependent.Demonstrated clinical experience, preferably in a general practice or primary care setting.Current CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) training.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.A dedication to continuing education and professional development.Working Conditions: Full-time or part-time positions available. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends. Fast-paced clinic environment with diverse patient populations. Opportunities for ongoing training and skill development.
