About the Role & Our Client:
Our client, a compassionate non-profit organization based on the Sunshine Coast, is committed to supporting individuals affected by suicide. We are seeking an experienced Practice Lead to oversee the Counselling and Phone Service, which provides high-quality support to those bereaved by suicide. This leadership role involves direct clinical service delivery, team management, and maintaining a supportive, growth-oriented work environment.
As Practice Lead, you will:
Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and risk evaluations to guide support plans.
Offer individual counselling, facilitate support groups, and provide ongoing grief support.
Develop personalized care plans and create safety plans for clients.
Lead and mentor a team of counsellors, fostering professional development and ensuring quality service.
Collaborate with community organizations and health professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and support the counselling and phone service team.
Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and provide specialised suicide bereavement counselling.
Facilitate support groups and provide ongoing individual/group interventions.
Develop individual care plans, perform risk assessments, and create safety plans.
Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to team members.
Ensure quality service delivery and promote trauma-informed, grief-informed practices.
Participate in data collection, policy development, and continuous service improvement.
Skills & Requirements:
Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, or mental health (master's degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3 years of supervised counselling experience and 3 years managing a counselling service team. Expertise in suicide bereavement, trauma, and crisis intervention
Professional Registration: Current registration with AASW, PACFA, ACA, or AHPRA.
Preferred: Certified Bereavement Practitioner (CBP) or similar certification.
This fully remote role allows you to make a national impact, providing critical support to those bereaved by suicide through the StandBy Support After Suicide program, a leader in suicide prevention in Australia.
