About the Role Reporting to the Director of Practice, you will manage a jurisdictional Practice Assurance team and work closely with our WA & SA Child Youth and Family teams, the broader Practice Excellence and Assurance Hub and other stakeholders to provide quality assurance that our practice and ways of working with children, young people, their families, and carers meets external regulatory and LWB compliance requirements.
This exciting and challenging role works within Life Without Barriers Quality Framework which incorporates four lines of assurance: Regulatory Assurance, Risk Assurance, Practice Assurance and Operational Assurance. In this role as the Practice Assurance Business Partner, you will work closely with our client service teams and other business functions to lead and achieve accreditation and quality management objectives, implement a risk based internal audit assurance program, manage external audit assurance and readiness, risk management, oversight of continuous quality improvement enabling practice excellence and monitoring program-based outcomes to drive better performance.
This is a permanent full-time position based in either Adelaide SA or Perth WA. There will be occasional travel to the state you do not reside in for training and stakeholder meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the WA & SA Practice Assurance Team to achieve and maintain quality standards accreditation through a collaborative approach and enabling best practice
Model and lead the culture, systems, and processes to embed standards, behaviours, and practices consistent with the Life Without Barriers values, the pillars of practice, work health and safety, policy, contractual and legislative requirements
Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members to deliver to the best of their ability
Work with the broader Practice Excellence and Assurance Hub to build a strong consistent national quality service delivery culture that is responsive to the operational and strategic needs of LWB
Provide leadership, drive implementation of process improvement initiatives, and embed a continuous quality improvement mindset to achieve best practice outcomes
Provide support and advice to Client Services on quality systems, risk management, legislative compliance, audit assurance and program documentation
Actively monitor, analyse and identify national and jurisdictional systemic issues, share best practice, and implement systems improvement
Develop, implement, and report on agreed plans and performance indicators and monitor ongoing performance
Provide support and advice for client records matters, including system use, archiving, privacy, access to records, documentation
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Extensive experience in Quality Management, standards, accreditation, governance, audit, risk management and compliance in the community services sector. Tertiary level qualifications in Human Services, management, or relevant field. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing quality and risk management systems, business plans and strategies within a large complex organisation. Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes. Demonstrated experience in the Child, Youth and Family legislative and regulatory environment. Demonstrated ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, external organisations, accrediting bodies and government agencies. Advanced and proven leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to think laterally and strategically. Actively identify, analyse, report and mitigate any risks and systemic issues that may impact on the achievement of objectives Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation ability. Proficient ability in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Knowledge of CARE, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention or other models of trauma-informed care is highly desirable. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and relevant state checks including Working with Children Check and Child Protection Clearances.
