Management - Internal (Human Resources & Recruitment)

About the OpportunityReporting to the CEO, the Manager People & Culture is responsible for the provision of operational and strategic advice in relation to human resource management and organisational development. We seek a People & Culture professional to join our organisation and lead our HR and WHS functions.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing HR & WHS strategies and initiatives that align with our organisational goals and values. You will also provide expert advice and support to our managers and employees on all Human Resource matters.
This role will lead a small team and the key responsibilities include:
Human Resource Management
• Oversee and coordinate the delivery of HR services across the organisation, including recruitment, remuneration, employment benefits, training, development, performance management, employee relations, and policy interpretation and development.
• Monitor and report on compliance with IR legislation, policies, and contractual obligations.
• Negotiate and implement an equitable and fit-for-purpose Enterprise Agreement.
• Manage the payroll and accounting functions and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payments and reports.
Workforce Planning
• Develop and implement the inaugural 4-year Workforce Management Plan that supports the current and future needs of the organisation.
• Conduct regular workforce analysis and forecasting to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies and programs to attract, retain, and develop talent.
Workplace Health and Safety In partnership with councils, HSEQ Officer:
• Ensure compliance with relevant workplace health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and manage return-to-work strategies, work injury claims, and compensation matters.
• Establish and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing among staff and stakeholders.
Organisational Development
• Deliver HR strategies and initiatives that support workforce capability and cultural change.
• Provide exceptional leadership to key stakeholders and foster a culture of innovation, service excellence, and collaboration.
• Establish employee recognition programs and performance management processes to acknowledge outstanding contributions by employees.
• Offer counselling services to employees with personal problems that have affected their performance at work.
About YouYou are an experienced Human Resources professional with a track record of leading and managing organisational change and shaping positive workplace culture. You are friendly, approachable but importantly, influential, and able to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
Qualifications & Experience
• You have relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and experience in Human Resources & WHS management, preferably in a senior management capacity.
• You are approachable and can juggle multiple priorities and expectations, with an unwavering commitment to internal and external customer service.
• You are authentic, strong, and effective in your leadership and communication skills.
• You have a sound knowledge of Industrial Relations & WHS legislation, policies, and practices.
• You are passionate about people and culture and want to make a difference.
