Our skilled staff deliver a breadth of care-based services, across a vast geographic footprint, and in many types of locations.About the role:The overall purpose of the Practitioner – Residential Care is to provide case management to children or young people within residential care services or programs.The role will assist to develop participation in positive age-appropriate activities; general physical and emotional wellbeing; engagement in schooling, employment, or other training; relevant life skills; and positive connection with family and other significant people.This is a Full-Time position working 76 Hours per Fortnight based at our Ipswich location servicing the Ipswich region.Responsibilities:Develop individual strength-based care plans for children or young people in out-of-home care services.Assess risks and needs, collaborating with the care team.Create positive behaviour support plans, crisis management plans, and daily/weekly routines.Support children or young people transitioning into and out of services and work with support networks to ensure successful transitions.Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.Develop cultural pathways for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and youth.Participate in community engagement and maintain administrative requirements.Maintain accurate records, reports, and audits.Foster positive relationships within the team and participate in staff meetings and share information for improvement.Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements:Degree in Health, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology or similar (this is an essential requirement of the role)Current Blue CardCurrent Licenced Care Service (LCS)Current Queensland Driver LicenceAbility and willingness to travel within the service region and to work outside of standard business hours and provide on-call support as requiredAbout You:Applied knowledge and understanding of youth justice and child protection frameworks including the Youth Justice Act and Child Protection Act (1999) and other relevant legislation.Understanding of child and adolescent development including impacts of trauma, attachment disorder and grief & loss.Assessment of complex to extreme needs of young people and the implementation of strength-based care plans that target areas for development.Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations; highly developed problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills.Able to work effectively in a team and independently; collaboration with stakeholders and meeting service delivery demands.Strong verbal and written communication skills; report writing and meeting planning.Why Join Anglicare?Join a respected Not for Profit and make a real impact in your role to assist Queenslanders in need.Salary Packaging - get up to $15,900 of your salary tax free to pay for items such as Rent, Mortgage, Credit Cards, Utilities, School Tuition and more.In addition to your tax-free benefit, you can also use up to $2,650 of your pre-tax income to pay for entertainment expenses (meals, venue hire, holiday accommodation etc.)Enjoy the potential tax savings of a Novated Car Lease.Employee Discounts at some of Australia's leading retailers.6% Bupa Health Insurance Discount.Referral App - Earn real $$$ for sharing jobs to your network and potentially earn up to $300 per referred successful starter.Career Opportunities - join a company who aim to promote from within to fill new roles with our internal-only Job Board.Opportunities to purchase additional annual leave.Pastoral Care Support & Employee Assistance Programs.Free annual Flu vaccinations.Anglicare is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ communities, people with disabilities and people with a lived experience of mental health.
