About The Role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.We are looking for a Power Controller
to work in the Power Supply team on a day and night lifestyle roster. Reporting to the Power Controller Operations Crew Leader and working in the Power Supply Operations team you will be responsible for:Maintenance and continuous improvement of high voltage assets, infrastructure, and distribution systems. Understanding high voltage and maintenance procedures and work practices and maintaining consistent application of standards. Identifying root causes of breakdowns and implementing solutions to eliminate them. Operating the high voltage assets to ensure continuity of electrical supply to Boyne Smelter. Preparing, checking, and participating in high voltage switching procedures. Liaising with external power providers. Leading teams as required to complete specific tasks or projects. Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.
What You'll Bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team. Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset. Valid C Class drivers licence. An Australian 'A' grade Electrical licence. A High Voltage Isolation and Access (HVIA) certificate is desirable. Relevant experience in an Aluminum Smelter and/or heavy industrial environment. Strong ability to clearly communicate with team members and stakeholders. A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to develop new skills as required. Good computer skills including the use of SAP would be desirable. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks. High Voltage experience or exposure up to 275kV Equipment. Familiarity with Honeywell Experion Control Systems.
